We've Run Out of TV

Meg and I are regular TV watchers, but, through the magic of netflix, we're running out of quality TV. Lost--season over. House--season over. Battlestar Galactica--gone forever (its still to soon for me to talk about it). Dexter--we're all caught up. 4400--cancelled. Criminal Minds--season over. Eureka--Sci-fi still has original programing? United States of Tara--season over. Weeds--new season doesn't start for another month (I think).

We're starting Trueblood soon (I managed to see a few episodes thanks to some free hotel HBO). But, already, I miss my programs. And I miss the regularity of living in New England in the summer time, where the Red Sox are on every night.

Criminal Minds still has the two hour season finale tomorrow.

Then I will certainly be on the lookout! We usually watch this one DVR'd--since it runs up against Lost.

I'll check tonight!

I've got the same problem. I've been flirting with a couple of new series.

Lie to Me is interesting from a Semantics of Lying standpoint. And Tim Roth is always interesting to watch.

Kings was pretty cool, but it's been placed on hiatus until the summer. The first 5 episodes are on Hulu. If you ever saw Deadwood, it's worth it just to see Ian McShane.

I got into Life (again, Hulu), and though the writing seems to mistake repetition for cleverness, overall it's a compelling revenge story.

At least Lost and Dexter are coming back. i don't know how to fill the hole BSG has left, but do think it was time to put that dog down.

And I feel that it's necessary to point out that all of American Gothic is on Hulu as well. Even if you've already seen it, it's one of the best shows ever.

Someone's at the door, someone's at the door.

Hmm... thanks for the suggestions. Most of those shows fall outside of my wheel-house. I have yet to dip into Hulu, this will likely get me to give it a try.

I was really excited for the mystery mini-series "Harper's Island," but the casting and dialogue were a bit too "MTV" (Meg's apt description).

Yeah, it let me down, too. Better off just revisiting Twin Peaks.
